The Mayor and a four member Trustee Board serve as the local government. Town Board Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.

Water utilities: The Town of Brookside Water System purchases water from the CaƱon City Water Department.
Call Brookside Water at 719-276-3436 or email Water@townofbrookside.org.
Water payments can be made by cash or check by mail, in person, placed in the drop box by the office door, or pay online here.
You can request e-invoices and monthly e-newsletters by emailing the clerk at Water@townofbrookside.org.

Septic: All residences in the Town are on septic systems, which work very well in the type of soil found here.
Information about septic tank maintenance can be found at https://www.fremontco.com/building/homeownersguide.shtml.
Septic permits must be obtained before installation or repair work is done. Call the Fremont County Health Department at 719-276-7460
 

A Municipal Business License is required in order to conduct business within the Town. Please fill out the application (download here) and return to the Town Clerk's office.

DO NOT PURCHASE BUILDING PERMITS FROM FREMONT COUNTY.

All building permits in the Town of Brookside are issued from the Town of Brookside.

You or your contractor must contact the Town of Brookside to obtain a permit for new construction, remodel work, or roofing.

The Town's Building Inspector cannot sign off on work that does not have documentation for septic, electrical and plumbing inspections.

Any mortgage lender will ask for valid inspections and permits.
