Local law enforcement authorities emphasize the importance to register your cell phone numbers in the Fremont County 9-1-1 data base. If you're one of the many people who no longer have land line phones then your cell phone will be the only method that Alert Fremont 9-1-1 reversal calls will reach you.
To have your wireless cell phone numbers registered in the E 9-1-1 database for Alert Fremont 9-1-1 reverse emergency notifications, visit Fremont County's web site at www.fremontco.com/miscellaneous/fremont911.shtml. Click the "Emergency Wireless Registration" link to enter your information. You can register two wireless phone numbers for yourself and can register up to five additional contacts such as family members.

Cañon City Fire District
Cañon City Area Fire Protection District requires open burning permits inside its boundaries. Permits are free of charge and include a one-page copy of all local burning regulations.
Permits are available from Fire Station 1 at 1475 N. 15th St., and Fire Station 2, 1349 Elm Ave. For more information on the required permits or open burning, call the main fire house at 275-8666.
